MINIATURE PUSH-ALONGS

China, 3" long A range of ten charming reproductions of old push-along 'penny toys' 3" long. (Note that they have no motors, and don't be misled by the 'Germany printed on the base: the designs were originally German but they are now being produced in China. The quality and finish are excellent, and the toys have an authentic appearance: indeed they are often passed oft as antique although the give-away will be the minute hole which can be seen somewhere in each model. This is because they come with a loop of gold thread (easily removable) with which they can be hung. Why? Well, the present producers are specialists in decorations, and they may genuinely see these as something people will hang from the Christmas tree or elsewhere. Alternatively they may be protecting themselves by hoping that the presence of the hole and thread will be proof that the things were not "designed or intended as children's playthings", and therefore cannot be subject to the toy safety laws -a real loophole if ever there was one.
